Following a strategic operational review, Tesco identified the need to introduce new Shop Floor Warehouses at the front of selected stores. The aim was to reduce stock travel distances, improve replenishment efficiency and support wider cost-saving measures. The programme required structural works, careful sequencing and safe night-time delivery – all within a fixed five-night installation window.
This programme was driven by detailed planning and early validation. We carried out pre-start surveys, coordinated structural steel installation, managed wall system construction and planned early relocations of fire alarm devices and electrical points.
Clear communication with store teams ensured safe, efficient night-time working across all sites. Maintaining the five-night model was essential, and our planning-led approach ensured every store stayed on track.
Pre-start surveys and early scoping removed uncertainty and ensured each store was fully understood before works began.
We coordinated steel installation, wall construction and all associated works within a controlled, CDM-managed environment.
All activity took place out of hours, allowing stores to trade safely and without disruption.
A repeatable sequence ensured every store followed the same controlled rhythm, giving the retailer confidence in programme predictability.
